New shareholding for J.L Coquet and Jaune de Chrome with the "Compagnie Européenne de Luxe et Traditions"

J.L Coquet and Jaune de Chrome, historical manufacture of Limoges Porcelain, based in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, has just joined the "Compagnie Européenne de Luxe et Traditions" (European Company of Luxury and Traditions - CELT), French family group holder of companies of excellence.

Placed in judicial liquidation, the Manufacture J.L Coquet and Jaune de Chrome welcomed enthusiastically the decision of the Commercial Court of Paris, on 23 August, which decided to valide CELT's proposition.

Created in 2007, CELT is a French family group that owns and federates crafts businesses to protect and develop their unique and globally recognized know-how. This group brings together several excellent workshops and manufactures (Odiot, Atelier Rouge Pullon, Margot, Cristal & Bronze and Serdaneli), all holders of the EPV (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) label.

The Commercial Court of Paris has been in favor of the CELT proposal, insofar as it maintains all the employees and proposes new synergies to strengthen the development of JL Coquet and Jaune de Chrome . A second project was submitted by the Bernardaud group, but its proposition retained only 66 jobs and resulted to considerably reduce the production capacity at the Manufacture's historic site.

This new shareholding will allow J.L Coquet and Jaune de Chrome to assert their position in the tableware and decoration sectors, thanks to a more complete offer combining porcelain and goldsmithing through the company Odiot. New activities will also be developed in the upscale bathroom market, including a brand new range of washbasins and accessories. Finally, CELT wants to open the factory to new markets, innovating, within three years, in the sector of technical ceramics (electronics, medical, aviation, etc.).

"The shareholding by CELT is a great news for J.L Coquet and Jaune de Chrome. Our staff is very motivated by the future development prospects, which will strengthen the work undertaken for over a year by our teams to develop our business" said Sébastien Cich, General Manager of J.L Coquet and Jaune de Chrome. With his experience in the tableware sector, he will also take over the management of Odiot, to maximize synergies between the two entities of this group.

At the same time, J.L Coquet and Jaune de Chrome will be organizing a big "Open Door" event during Maison & Objet's exhibition, welcoming clients and agents from September 6th to 9th in their Rue Royale boutique. This event will present all of their collections and their latest news.
