Rêve by Thomas Bastide x J.L Coquet

Dream by Thomas Bastide x JL Coquet

JL Coquet unveils its new Rêve collection , an invitation to travel that leaves room for the imagination. Rêve was conceived by designer Thomas Bastide, who combines soft and atypical shapes to create a Limoges porcelain tableware set.

The meeting of Thomas Bastide, a spontaneous designer who loves to let himself be guided by inspiration, and JL Coquet, a porcelain manufacturer always seeking new creations, naturally led to a collaboration. Their shared attraction to the interplay of materials and the marriage of textures has given rise to this new "Rêve" collection, composed of a teapot, a creamer, a sugar bowl, cups and saucers for tea, coffee, and mocha, as well as a vase, the first in a series of decorative pieces to be discovered in the coming months.

Rêve is a collection of rounded pieces whose sensual shapes are inspired by clouds and reverie. Both understated and curved, the forms reveal the purity of the white porcelain, sometimes matte, sometimes glossy.

Each piece features a ball handle offered in 2 versions (white enamel or burnished gold patina), Thomas Bastide wanted to offer a new grip, with the palm of the hand.

Beyond the apparent simplicity lies, in reality, a true technical feat. Indeed, the vase and the teapot require a plaster mold in no fewer than six parts, which is then cast with liquid porcelain paste, demonstrating the mastery and unique expertise of the artisans at JL Coquet.
