Rêve by Thomas Bastide x J.L Coquet

J.L Coquet unveils its new collection Dreaman invitation to travel, leaving room for the imagination. Dream has been imagined by designer Thomas Bastide, who combines soft, atypical shapes to create a Limoges porcelain service.

The meeting of Thomas Bastide, a spontaneous designer who likes to let himself be carried along by inspiration, and J.L CoquetThe meeting of Thomas Bastide, a spontaneous designer who likes to let himself be carried along by inspiration, and the porcelain manufacturer, always on the lookout for new ideas, led to the obvious collaboration. Their shared attraction to the interplay of materials and textures gave birth to the new "Rêve" collection, comprising a teapot, a Creamer, a Sugar bowl, tea, coffee and mocha cups and saucers, and a vase, the first in a series of decorative pieces to be unveiled over the coming months.

Rêve is an all-round service whose sensual shapes are inspired by clouds and daydreams. At once sober and curved, the shapes reveal the purity of white porcelain, sometimes matte, sometimes glossy.

Each piece is fitted with a ball handle available in 2 versions (white enamel or burnished gold patina), Thomas Bastide wanted to offer a new way of gripping, using the palm of the hand.

Behind the apparent simplicity lies a veritable technical feat. Indeed, both the vase and the teapot require a plaster mold in no less than six parts, and are then cast with liquid porcelain paste, demonstrating the mastery and special know-how of the craftsmen at J.L Coquet.
